Approaching Retirement

Listen to this article

After dedicating 4 decades of my life to learning, practicing, and re-learning the art and science of medicine, I have decided it is time to reduce the amount of time I am in the exam room so I can devote more time to other activities.

As of October 2022 I will be seeing patients on Monday and Tuesday 8AM-4PM. At this time, I am tentatively planning to retire in the fall of 2023.

As I need to reduce the number of patients I see by about 50%, I will be asking some of my diabetic patients to transfer their care to one of the new diabetic nurse practitioners who work in this office.

I want to thank you for choosing me to be your physician and for sharing the joys and tribulations which life throws at all of us. It was an honor to have been your physician

Despite a flawed healthcare system, I believe that being a physician is the best job in the world.
