Silence is Complicity

Across America, citizens and legal residents are being detained by unaccountable government agents acting as prosecutor, judge, jury, and executioner. Individuals are denied legal counsel, due process, and contact with their families. Court orders are ignored; people are secretly being deported to foreign jails, placing them beyond the reach of their Constitutional rights.

This is not the America our parents and grandparents defended in war and rebuilt in peace.

It is not the America we grew up believing in, nor the one we hope to bequeath to our children.
Our courts and politicians cannot halt our fall into authoritarianism; we must call upon the ultimate source of our government’s power: We the People.

It is not too late to gift your children a democratic future. But if you look away, or believe you are “too busy,” they will grow up in a world far less joyful and free. And one day, they may ask: “What was it like to live in a democracy?” Authoritarians thrive when the public is complacent.

Today, silence truly is complicity.

Tell the world what you will do to help save our democracy.
Tell the world you won’t be silent.
