Retirees for Democracy (R4D) is a nonpartisan coalition of retired Americans solely dedicated to re-establishing, protecting, and strengthening democracy in the United States. We stand apart from other pro-democracy organizations by focusing exclusively on defending democracy—without endorsing or opposing any unrelated political positions.
Drawing on decades of experience, civic insight, and a deep sense of responsibility to future generations, R4D mobilizes retirees to:
- Reverse America’s fall into authoritarianism
- Defend the Constitution, voting rights, free press, and academic freedom
- Protect every individual’s right to due process
We believe America’s democracy is a legacy that must be defended—not only for our nation, but for the world, history, and most importantly, our children and grandchildren.
