Minuteman Bikeway Winter Spring Summer Fall
Join fellow MIT alumni and other cyclists for a relaxed Thursday morning ride on the Minuteman Bikeway – one of the premier rail-trails, inducted into the Rail-Trail Hall of Fame. This event is open to all, regardless of MIT affiliation.
📍 Starting Point:
Thorndike Field Park parking lot (free parking)
99 Margaret Street, Arlington, MA
Just 0.2 miles from Alewife Station (MBTA Red Line)
🚴♂️ Ride Details:
We’ll ride at a relaxed pace of 10–12 mph on the paved Minuteman Bikeway. The group will decide whether to ride to Bedford’s Depot Park (20 miles round trip) or Lexington Common (12 miles round trip). Cyclists are encouraged to ride two abreast, when it’s safe, so as to facilitate conversations.
🕙 When:
Thursdays at 10:00 AM, weather permitting.
The round trip: Thorndike Parking Lot and Lexington is 65 minutes.
The round trip: Thorndike Parking Lot and Bedford Depot Park is 110 minutes.
Stopping at the Kickstand Café on our return will add about 20-30 minutes.

We will stop at the Kickstand Café in Arlington on our way back.
